Receive money from overseas

If someone wants to send you money from overseas, there are some details they will need from you.

Details to give the sender

  • Your account number
  • Your account name
  • Your residential address as listed on the account
  • ANZ’s full name and address: ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited, Level 10, 170-186 Featherston Street, Wellington 6011
  • ANZ’s SWIFT code (also known as Bank Identifier Code or BIC): ANZBNZ22
    • If you need an 11-digit SWIFT, use ANZBNZ22XXX

Codes and numbers the sender may ask for

SWIFT or BIC code

ANZ New Zealand’s SWIFT code (also known as Bank Identifier Code or BIC) is ANZBNZ22.

If you need an 11-digit SWIFT, use ANZBNZ22XXX.


IBAN

IBAN is an account format used by European banks. 

New Zealand banks do not use this format, an IBAN is not required to send money to an ANZ New Zealand bank account.


National Clearing Code, Routing Number, BSB Number or Sort Code

If this is required by the sending bank, use the first six digits (bank and branch codes) of your account number.

e.g. For 01-0123-0123456-00, use 010123
